Chicago Jobs: Video Interviews

Chicago Jobs: Video Interviews

Video Interviews

10K Financial Recruiters will soon add a video interview service. This will allow employers to expedite the first round interview process, and focus on the best candidates for an office visit. Video interviews are also very environmental friendly, with less resources spent bringing candidates and employers together. As interviewing is a two way street, employers will also have the option of creating their own video presentation of the opportunity to be shared with highly qualified candidates.

Employers can enter their own interview questions, or select from our standard interview question list. Employers also do not risk asking any inappropriate/illegal interview questions on the fly, and the standard format for selecting candidates allows for an equal non discriminatory playing field. After receiving initial resumes the employer can request a video interview of selected candidates, and then quickly view candidate interviews and identify their preferred candidates for an office visit.

We expect candidates will be reluctant to this new process, and we are confident they will see the time and cost saving benefit. In person interviews do not have a delete button, and you only have one chance to make a first impression. The only equipment necessary will be a webcam, and for the few who do not already have one we believe its cost will be less than the gas/parking/tolls required for just one alternative face to face first interview. No software is necessary, and all data is kept strictly confidential and only can be viewed by your recruiter at 10K and the client hiring managers. Candidates can also upload work samples, letters of recommendations, and other selling points, which will allow the employer to learn asap if you are a good match.

10K Financial Recruiters looks forward to saving additional time and lowering costs with this new service. This will be a FREE service ad-on with any RPO or Risk Free Candidate Search request.

Summer 2010

Just as the job market showed several months of continued improvement the typical summer slowdown has occurred. Companies are still hiring, but as July hits and managers focus more time on family and vacations the interview activity slows. Job market candidates can take advantage of this slowdown by focusing on longer term job search methods, such as building network and contacts via LinkedIn and other social sites, as well as personal contacts. Resumes are always a work in progress and focus on getting more relevant search keywords listed, and make sure to update resume on Monster, resumeschicago.com, and other resume databases - normally the most recently updated resumes show up higher in a resume search, so this simple task can be important part of getting interviews 2-3 months after uploading your resume. Also make sure to practice interview, sharing your talking points with friends or even your dog. Finally, job seekers need to enjoy their summer also, and feel free to schedule your golf outing with 10K today! www.10krecruiters.com/golf.htm

Chicago OFCCP Staffing

The OFCCP has specific rules on who is an Internet Applicant, and what documentation is required during the job post, resume search, interviewing, and hiring process - the rule applies to Federal Contractors, and the number of federal contractors is expected to increase due to the economic stimulus package of 2009.

Every employer doing business with the US Government has a decision to make: Whether to develop an internal OFCCP hiring expertise and process, or to outsource their OFCCP Hiring and Compliance function. Employers can choose to add to workload of their HR staff, already busy with resume sourcing, interviewing, and employee relations. We have learned that there is a better way, to outsource both job posting, resume sourcing, and OFCCP compliance efforts to a single firm that can easily track and record the required OFCCP documentation.

OFCCPHiring - http://www.ofccphiring.com has the ability to properly cross post positions to dozens of leading career sites and the appropriate state agency, search and screen resumes of the top resume vendors in accordance with OFCCP rules, and track and record required documentation for OFCCP compliance.OFCCPHiring.com's fee is less than the cost of accessing just one resume database, and allows employers to focus on interviewing and hiring the best employee.

Chicago Interview Tips

Are you waiting for your dream interview before preparing? Are you waiting to be 100& sold on a position before selling your self? You may be making a big mistake, as many recruiters know, your performance on your first interview will probably not be your best performance, but your last interview probably will be. You will wish you "said this" or wish you "had not said that". You will realize after the interview your body language may have given off the wrong signals. You will wonder whether you gave the best impression about your priorities and interest in the position. You may even forget to get the business card, bring your resume, say thank you, or many other mistakes we recruiters observe even with the best educated and experienced professionals.

Before you will get any offers or 2nd interviews you will have to prepare and perform so that the interview results in this goal. If you find out during the interview that the job may not be 100% of your dream job, do not give up on your goal - You still need to know you are doing and saying the right things that will get you wanted, and giving up during an interview will not allow you to learn this. Remember you can always decide after the interview that the job is not a match, if you are indeed extended an offer or invited back for a 2nd interview. You can also follow up on any objections you have to the position and many times employers who want you will surprise you with their willingness to overcome your objections, or refer you to another better suited position or employer. Remember only good things can happen from a well performed interview, but giving up during the interview never helps.

Chicago Job Posts and Resume Search Services

The Chicago Job market has become more employer friendly in 2009, but staffing challenges remain, especially for highly skilled positions such as Accounting, Engineerring, IT, and Medical. With dozens of online resume and job posting resources, we expect you wish you could use one source for everything, and in today's economy lowering costs is as important as ever. With a few new website services now employers can: Post job FREE across the internet, and access screened resumes from several sources like Monster and Hotjobs. The internet has created new methods for resume sourcing and staffing. 60-70% of candidates will post their resume online. Dozens of career job boards now attract a variety of candidates. Advertising costs have risen while results have declined . Top candidates now have a much shorter shelf-life in the job market.

With the new online resume marketplace you may ask yourself:
Why pay up to $400 for each job posting?
Why pay a full fee to a recruiter who finds the resume online?
Why invest the time and costs required to directly source online resumes?
Resume Search and Mining Services allows employers to use one source to access current and qualified candidates of the major vendors, including: Monster, CareerBuilder, and Hotjobs, at a much lower cost than accessing each directly. This allows an employer to focus on interviewing and hiring while lowering costs and increasing quality interviews. Compared with the costs and time required to source qualified and interested candidates internally or through an executive recruiter, Resume Search & Screen services have become a very popular step in many client recruiting strategies. A few new websites are available to help, allowing job posts to cross post free dozens of leading career sites, like Indeed, SimplyHired, LinkedIn, and many more.
